Changing Lives Through martial Arts

Kwanjangdo Martial Arts Academy was founded by Grandmaster Eun Woo Lee, known to his students as Kwanjangnim. Grandmaster Lee has a decorated history in martial arts and enjoys the respect of the local and international Taekwondo community.

Kwanjangnim often says that martial arts saved him as a child. As a child who was small in stature, he was bullied. He was gravitating towards a destructive path in life and was fortunate to discover martial arts. Grandmaster Lee learnt not only the skills to defend himself but received principles and life skills to navigate life outside the gym. These are the teachings he passes on to his students.

As a traditional martial arts school, KJD teaches respect for self and others, discipline and perseverance.

Kwanjangnim’s illustrious career has many highlights, including:

  • He was the Team Manager of the South Africa Olympic team in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
  • As a practitioner, in 1972 while still living in his native Korea, he was the National Taekwondo Champion.

He has trained hundreds of students. Some starting with him as kids all the way to adulthood.
