Taekwondo - Dynamic and Athletic

Taekwondo is a dynamic Korean martial art that involves kicking, punching and blocking.

It’s an exciting martial art to practice and watch.

At our demonstrations and competitions you’ll  see our students executing spectacular flying side kicks and spinning back heel kicks. They perform their patterns with amazing balance, coordination and grace.

In the training gym students learn to perform these moves in a safe environment. They also wear protective gear during sparring.

It’s in the sparring sessions that they get used to being in conflict situations,  reducing their fight or flight responses to conflict.

Seasoned martial artists are calmer in physical and non-physical conflict situations  outside the gym, reducing their likelihood of getting into fights.

Students also learn how to use traditional weapons such as sword, nunchaku, and long staff.

How Kids benefit from Taekwondo

Kids who practice Taekwondo develop concentration and focus –  critical skills for high levels of performance in martial arts and other areas of life.

Young practitioners improve discipline and behaviour because they are taught traditional martial arts values, with an emphasis on developing character.

Kids learn how to lead and follow.  They develop confidence and humility; strength and compassion. This is why they don’t get bullied and don’t become bullies.

The coolest thing about Taekwondo for kids is they get to be active while having fun and being social.

Bring your little one for a free class so they can try it out.
